Why Is The CuddleCot Important?

The CuddleCot offers grieving families a way to spend precious time with their baby, forming a vital bond as they come to terms with their loss and new reality. Unlike traditional cold cots, the CuddleCot lets families hold their baby in their arms without worrying about affecting their baby’s condition. Its innovative design maintains an ideal temperature for the baby while ensuring it’s comfortable for parents.

For many families, the thought of leaving their baby at the hospital mortuary is distressing. The CuddleCot’s versatility allows it to be used not just in hospitals, but also in funeral homes, or even taken to the family’s home. This flexibility provides families the comfort of having their baby close during such a difficult time.

How The CuddleCot Works?

The CuddleCot system includes a standard and premature cooling pad, and can be placed in any basket, crib or bed. The pad is connected by a specially insulated hose and is quietly cooled using the CuddleCot cooling unit.

The CuddleCot’s thin, soft cooling pad is placed on top of the soft mattress which ensures the baby is fully cushioned and comfortable.

The CuddleCot system comes with two sizes of cooling pads for premature and full-term babies.

Biocide is added to the water to avoid bacteria, and the unit is easily cleaned using plastic safe cleaning products. Water is drained from the unit after each use.

The CuddleCot can also be used with the specially adapted Shnuggle Moses Basket. The basket has been specially moulded to accommodate the cooling pad and hose.

A growing number of hospitals are allowing families to take their baby home to spend time with them before the funeral. The CuddleCot is portable and simple to use with minimal professional instruction.

The CuddleCot allows parents to cool babies at home in their own cot, crib or Moses basket, and enables families to cradle their baby in their arms unlike traditional cold cots.
