About Our Mortuary & Anatomy Down Draft Trolley
The Shotton Parmed Down Draft Mortuary Trolley is a specialised mortuary workstation designed to support body handling, preparation and examination procedures while assisting with the management of airborne contaminants, odours and vapours at the work surface.
Designed for professional mortuary, pathology and post-mortem environments, the downdraft system draws air downward and away from the operator’s immediate working area for connection to an appropriate extraction or ventilation system.
Combining a practical body handling platform with integrated downdraft extraction, the trolley provides a versatile solution for facilities where hygiene, functionality and management of the working environment are important considerations.
Integrated Down Draft Extraction
The key feature of the Down Draft Mortuary Trolley is its integrated downward airflow design.
During mortuary preparation and examination procedures, the downdraft system is designed to draw air away from the operator and toward the trolley’s extraction area. When connected to a suitable facility ventilation or extraction system, this can assist with controlling odours, vapours and airborne contaminants close to their source.
This makes downdraft equipment particularly valuable in professional mortuary environments where body preparation and examination procedures are regularly undertaken.

Supporting A Cleaner Mortuary Working Environment
Managing the working environment is an important consideration in mortuary, pathology and post-mortem facilities.
A Down Draft Body Trolley is designed to capture air at or near the working surface rather than relying solely on general room ventilation.
By drawing air downward and away from the operator’s breathing zone, the system can form part of a broader ventilation strategy for controlling odours and airborne contaminants generated during applicable mortuary procedures.
The final ventilation and extraction configuration should be determined according to the requirements of the facility and applicable standards.
